Forbidden For us Book 1 eBook HDRYAN Reviews
I really enjoyed the plot of Forbidden. There was enough to make it different from the others out there. However, for the love of god! Edit the next book! I found myself re-reading because words were jumbled and grammar was pretty bad. The other thing I didn't like is it is based in California yet, I'm guessing the author is British. The British lingo coming through was just confusing. I AM looking forward to book 2 because I did like the characters and the plot and I want to know what happens. However, Jay needs to jump off a cliff. Ugh.
This is a story about a forbidden love between two lost souls and fate who throws them together when they least expected it. Erica Wyatt has sworn off all men. Walking in on your boyfriend with another man will do that to a girl. She just wants to focus on herself and her career. That is until her eyes land on the most beautiful man she has ever seen. There is just something about him that she can't forget. Casey Carter usually only goes for one or two nights with someone. Until he meets Erica, he has never wanted anything else. He decides to take his business to the marketing firm she works for just so he can have a reason to be close to her.
They are drawn to each other but she knows she has to stay away from him since he is a client. Her boss doesn't allow business and pleasure to mix. But Casey won't take no for an answer and Erica is losing the will to continue turning him down. She finally gives in and sleeps with him but tells herself it's just for one night. Casey can't and won't accept that. They start a forbidden love affair that must be kept secret because Erica doesn't want to lose her job. Then she finds out that Casey has been keeping secrets of his own...from Erica.
Throughout the book, I kept wanting Erica to just talk to her boss and explain her feelings for Casey and hope that he would understand. But I'm glad that she didn't because when the time came to take their relationship public, Casey was the one to speak with her boss and that was the best thing that could have happened. Erica had this feeling that she was the reason her previous boyfriend turned gay, not realizing that he was gay all along and just denying himself. Casey was good for her, he made her so happy and made her feel complete.
I knew that Casey was hiding something but was really surprised when it was revealed. Casey truly cares for Erica and he is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her and make her happy. Although the story had some editing mishaps, I was able to look past that and enjoy the ride that H. D. Ryan took me on. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next book to be released to see how Erica and Casey handle the obstacles in their way. A really great debut novel.
